Key Responsibilities

In your role as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' medical histories, physical conditions, and rehabilitation needs. This includes assessing joint mobility, strength, and function to craft personalized treatment plans.
• Implementing treatment protocols such as exercise regimens, manual therapy techniques, and patient education tailored to individual recovery goals.
• Engaging in constant communication with patients and their families, explaining evaluation findings and collaboratively setting achievable rehabilitation goals based on patient input.
• Regularly documenting patient progress, treatment modifications, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Participating in team meetings to address patient care strategy and discharge planning, while also contributing to departmental goals and objectives.
• Actively pursuing continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and share contemporary knowledge with peers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. Our patients range from amateur athletes to active seniors, allowing for diverse therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual's lifestyle, needs, and recovery goals. This role requires a deep understanding of orthopedic pathologies and the ability to create engaging rehabilitation experiences that empower patients on their journey to recovery.

Qualifications

To successfully step into this role, candidates should possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with a preference for a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• A state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience
