Work Environment

This position is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and primarily involves visiting clients in their homes. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee physical therapy treatment plans, focusing on preventing disability, relieving pain, developing muscle function, and enhancing performance aligned with the client's capabilities.
• Oversee and support Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of treatment plans to guarantee high-quality care.
• Evaluate clients' functional levels through a series of diagnostic tests, assessing muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.
• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' home environments to provide recommendations aimed at fostering independence in daily activities.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and guide clients through non-manual exercises, ensuring effective implementation of their physical therapy programs.
• Utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as traction and massage, and administer treatments using physical agents as prescribed.
• Evaluate, fit, and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices, making appropriate recommendations to physicians when necessary.
• Engage in collaborative development, review, and updating of clients' care plans, actively participating in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide education to clients and their families regarding the use of physical therapy devices, care protocols, and overall progress.
• Participate in on-site functional assessments, revising care plans as needed based on clients' evolving needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clientele includes individuals recovering from orthopedic conditions, surgeries, and injuries, requiring personalized physical therapy interventions to regain mobility and functionality. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current and valid physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia, with a history of maintaining good standing.
• Certification in CPR, ensuring readiness to respond to any emergencies that may arise during client interactions.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as travel to client homes is essential.
• A committed and passionate approach to clinical excellence, quality care, and client advocacy.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of physical therapy experience, with a preference for those who have worked in both acute care and home care settings.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively, especially in challenging situations requiring informed decision-making.
• Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork, showcasing effective communication skills with both clients and healthcare personnel.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience.
