Work Environment

This position is set within a home care environment, allowing therapists to provide dedicated, personalized attention to patients in the comfort of their own homes. During regular work hours from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, you will interact closely with patients and their families, fostering an atmosphere of trust and encouragement. The tools and equipment you use will often include portable therapy tools and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document progress and ensure continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to create customized treatment plans that align with each patient's unique rehabilitation goals.
• Provide hands-on treatment techniques that address orthopedic concerns, employing various manual therapy modalities and exercise regimens tailored to individuals.
• Monitor patient progress through regular evaluations, adjusting care plans as necessary based on evidence-based outcomes and patient feedback.
• Utilize EMR software for meticulous documentation of therapy sessions, ensuring all interactions and treatment modalities are recorded accurately for comprehensive patient care.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and personal trainers, to provide holistic care aimed at improving patient outcomes.
• Motivate and empower patients, guiding them through their rehabilitation process, while promoting the importance of staying active and living a healthy lifestyle.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, self-care techniques, and strategies to prevent recurrence of injuries.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients ranging from post-operative recovery to chronic pain management. You will work with individuals of all ages, coordinating care with their healthcare providers to ensure seamless support throughout their rehabilitation journey. Your role will not only encompass physical treatment but also involve education and encouragement, empowering patients to achieve their personal health goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• An active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in Virginia, reflecting a commitment to best practices in physical therapy.
• A proven track record of success in orthopedic outpatient care settings, showcasing expertise in manual therapy techniques as well as exercise program development.
• Proficient use of EMR systems, especially Web PT, to manage patient records efficiently.
• A strong understanding of current physical therapy practices backed by evidence-based research.

Preferred Experience

• 1-3 years of clinical experience in a related orthopedic environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience working within a home care setting is a plus, as this will provide valuable insight into patient interactions outside of a traditional clinic.
• Comfortable working independently while showcasing excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in various environments.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
