The Healing Mind and Soul Center is actively seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a Bilingual Therapist. This full-time role focuses on providing essential therapeutic services remotely and through our outpatient facility located in San Jose, California. Work Environment\n

This position allows for a hybrid work setting, combining remote work with in-person interactions at our outpatient office in San Jose. Key Responsibilities\n

As a Bilingual Therapist at the Healing Mind and Soul Center, you will:

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of children and their families, leveraging your expertise to provide in-home therapeutic support and outpatient care.
\n
• Implement strategies to manage anger, promote coping skills, and enhance social skills, while working closely with youth to address high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and allied professionals to devise and implement effective treatment plans that address the multifaceted needs of each child.
\n
• Document treatment progress meticulously, including conducting intakes, developing treatment plans, and maintaining progress notes, while ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
\n
• Participate in regular meetings to provide updates and recommendations concerning treatment strategies and family support initiatives.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role will primarily involve working with children aged 3 to 20, particularly those facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your ability to communicate fluently in Spanish or Portuguese is essential for building rapport with clients and their families, ensuring that they receive culturally competent therapeutic services tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist license (LMFT).
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, primarily between 4-7 PM, with additional flexibility for weekend sessions if possible.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations or community meeting sites.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the ideal candidate will also have:

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions specifically for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• Previous experience working with youth and their families in various settings, demonstrating a clear understanding of the challenges they face.

Compensation and Benefits\n
