Experienced Physician Assistant for General Surgery at Ultra Family Care Clinic

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Ultra Family Care Clinic in Frisco, Texas. This full-time position will involve providing comprehensive care in the general surgery department, working collaboratively alongside our experienced general surgeons. The PA will be integral in the management of patients across the care continuum, from pre-operative consultations to in-hospital care and post-operative follow-ups.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at a cutting-edge hospital facility equipped with advanced surgical technology and resources. Key Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a licensed physician, the Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patients’ needs.

• The PA will engage in daily rounding for hospitalized patients, ensuring up-to-date information on their condition, writing orders, and managing hospital admissions and discharges efficiently.

• In the operating room, the PA will assist in surgical procedures, providing first assist during laparoscopic and robotic surgeries while adhering to all safety and compliance protocols.

• Education of patients is a critical aspect of this role, with responsibilities including delivering clear pre-operative instructions and comprehensive post-operative care guidance.

• Additionally, the PA will participate in emergency department and critical care consultations, allowing for a diverse range of clinical experiences.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients range from children to adults, encompassing a variety of surgical needs. As a Physician Assistant in our clinic, you will be involved in managing a diverse patient population, fostering long-term relationships, and enhancing the overall patient experience through personalized care and consistent follow-ups.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or an equivalent advanced educational background.

• Board certification as a Physician Assistant and current state licensure are mandatory.

• Possession of a DEA License and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association are required.

• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification will need to be obtained within the first year of employment.

Preferred Experience

• We highly value candidates with at least 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in surgical care or hospital medicine. Experience as a first assist in laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures is advantageous but not required.

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and surgical scheduling systems will be beneficial in streamlining our workflow.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This is a salaried position with full benefits that include health insurance, paid licensing and certification, and coverage for DEA expenses.
