Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and intake assessments with clients, documenting findings meticulously from the initial consultation through the entire treatment process.

• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans that reflect the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that foster open dialogue and support among participants.
\n
• Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to promote recovery and resilience.

• Collaborate effectively with other professionals, including psychiatrists, medical staff, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Provide timely follow-ups with clients and their families, particularly for those recently hospitalized, to ensure ongoing support and resource access.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges early in the treatment process.

• Offer guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them to manage associated behavioral and emotional concerns.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• Passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) are necessary.

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with a strong grasp of therapeutic practices and client engagement strategies.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and communication.

• Knowledge of various underlying physical and emotional health conditions as well as addiction disorders is essential.

• Prior experience with the best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is a plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal competencies, to foster effective relationships.

• Familiarity with treatment modalities for concurrent disorders, integrating mental health and substance use treatment.
