Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients recovering from surgery, injury, or disease, implementing tailored therapy sessions to address their specific needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to alleviate pain and enhance physical function.
• Regularly document patient progress, adjusting treatment goals and methods based on their response to therapy.
• Educate patients and their families regarding therapeutic practices, as well as recommend assistive devices to promote independence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, engaging with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Stay current with best practices through professional development, including attending workshops and seminars, to enhance your expertise in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population that ranges from young children to elderly individuals requiring rehabilitation for orthopedic issues, neurological disorders, post-operative recovery, and various other conditions. Your role directly impacts their recovery journey and ability to regain functionality, providing them with support and encouragement throughout their treatment.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required, along with an active Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, allowing for effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to document and manage treatment plans effectively, with a solid understanding of progression tracking.
• Computer proficiency, particularly in electronic health records (EHR) systems and general office software.
• Flexibility and adaptability in approach to treatment, catering to the unique needs and responses of each patient.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in physical therapy is preferred, but we welcome new graduates with a passion for patient care.
• Experience in a rehabilitation environment is a plus, particularly with patients undergoing post-operative recovery or complex rehabilitation.
• Previous involvement in community health initiatives or educational workshops would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a robust benefits package. Benefits include:
