Work Environment\n

This position operates in a predominantly remote setting, allowing for a flexible schedule that can accommodate both your needs and those of the families we serve. While the duties predominantly occur from the comfort of your home, periodic visits to our community health clinic or client locations may be required. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and comfortable collaborating virtually with colleagues and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, including both in-home and community-based treatments, focusing on building coping strategies and improving overall mental health.

• Design and implement therapeutic interventions aimed at reducing aggressive behaviors and enhancing decision-making skills among youth.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based practices to provide anger management and social skills development for children with challenging behaviors, creating personalized treatment plans based on each child's specific needs.

• Regularly collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Child Family Treatment Team members and external agencies, to provide a network of support for both youth and their caregivers.
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of all therapy sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes within required timelines for compliance and quality assurance.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and contribute recommendations for improved care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this position is to support children aged 3 to 20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This role is critical in helping these youths navigate their emotional landscapes, enhance their coping mechanisms, and develop essential life skills. Our clinic values a culturally sensitive approach and seeks professionals who are able to communicate effectively, particularly with bilingual Spanish or Portuguese-speaking clients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in Florida is a must.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM); weekend work is a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are necessary for any travel to client locations.
\n
• Passing a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting with proven outcomes in behavior support and engaging with children diagnosed with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

• Experience or education in positive behavior support techniques, fostering resilience and adaptive skills in children and youth.
\n
• Prior experience working collaboratively as part of a treatment team is advantageous.
