Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Parkridge, your daily responsibilities will be multifaceted and rewarding:

• You will conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients referred by physicians, assessing their physical condition and establishing individualized treatment plans that cater to their specific needs.
• Implement therapeutic interventions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and patient education to enhance mobility and promote recovery.
• Demonstrate exemplary customer service by building rapport with patients and their families, ensuring a compassionate and supportive treatment experience.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, engaging in regular case discussions and utilizing evidence-based practices to inform clinical decision-making.
• Provide home health therapy services utilizing approved guidelines, ensuring patients receive continuous support in their familiar environments.
• Advise and educate patients and caregivers on home exercises and self-management techniques to encourage long-term health and well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with orthopedic patients, providing specialized care to individuals recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, surgeries, and conditions. Your expertise will also extend to treating diverse populations, including pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid State License to practice Physical Therapy in Virginia.
• At least two years of relevant experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or a related field.
• Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Proficiency in digital documentation and word processing software is essential.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years of experience, candidates with advanced training in orthopedic rehabilitation, specific certifications, or previous exposure in a similar setting will be given preference.
