Revenue Manager

Job Description Summary The Revenue Manager assists the Market Director and the reservation sales team to optimize revenues, ensuring correct placement and rate positioning on all distribution channels and increasing hotel market share. Major Duties and Responsibilities Support revenue management and distribution team goals and strategies. Review, analyze, and communicate day‑to‑day changes, available inventory, and transient pace using IdeaS, SynXis, and Business Intelligence systems. Develop, implement, maintain, and measure revenue‑impacting strategies with the Revenue Team. Analyze market and competitive intelligence on a regular basis. Create analytical ad‑hoc reports as directed by the Area Director of Revenue(s). Support yield efforts by ensuring all segments and distribution channels are mined for revenue opportunities. Maintain systems (IdeaS, Opera, SynXis, Business Intelligence) and update selling restrictions and inventory controls. Authorize daily updates of selling restrictions to ensure rate integrity. Interface with Front Office Managers on same‑day selling strategies. Conduct displacement analysis for groups and long‑term business as needed. Assist with projects assigned by Area or Regional Directors of Revenue. Lead the hotel revenue team and daily revenue process in the absence of the (Area) Director of Revenue Management. Ability to create, implement, and analyze manual and automated reports. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Outlook, Cognos, and other PC applications. Operational knowledge of national sales processes, GDS, third‑party internet distribution, and corporate support functions. Other Skills Strong communication and organizational skills. High motivation, flexibility, and initiative. Incisive analytical and problem‑resolution skills. Basic understanding of supply and demand, RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, LOS, and STR/Demand360 reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Cognos. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferred; some college and related experience considered. At least 2 years’ experience as a Revenue Manager or Revenue Analyst. Comprehensive knowledge of NYC markets and trends. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Proven track record of increasing RevPAR yield in NYC.
