Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including assessments of clinical needs and risk factors, to inform developmentally appropriate treatment plans.

• Provide effective crisis intervention, utilizing evidence-based practices to stabilize clients experiencing acute mental health challenges.

• Collaborate closely with clients and their families to coordinate care and manage the discharge planning process, ensuring smooth transitions between various levels of mental health care.

• Work in partnership with community organizations, including the Department of Corrections, to facilitate access to appropriate housing and treatment options for clients.

• Lead group therapy sessions focused on specific mental health issues, enhancing peer support and community building among participants.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including completing required statistical reports to ensure compliance with state guidelines.

• Participate actively in clinical supervision sessions at least once a week, fostering professional development and growth.

• Engage in mental health and medical rounds and contribute to case conferences to develop integrated treatment plans for clients.

• As needed, conduct psychological testing and supervise social work interns or student volunteers to support the next generation of mental health professionals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse and multifaceted client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and the effects of social determinants on mental health. The candidate must be skilled in delivering culturally competent care, recognizing the unique needs of varied backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required for this position.

• Active and valid State licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential for providing counseling services.

• Proficient in understanding and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage client documentation and treatment records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within community health settings, particularly with underserved populations, is highly desirable.
