This remote position allows you to provide impactful mental health services from the comfort of your home while maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs, including evening and weekend appointments.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will be as follows:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients presenting with mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, and bipolar disorder, ensuring a clear understanding of the severity and impact of their symptoms.

• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that consider their specific needs, preferences, and therapy goals, leveraging evidence-based interventions.

• Implement therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) during sessions, enabling clients to develop coping strategies and positive behavioral changes.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, highlighting treatment options and self-care techniques to foster empowerment and understanding.

• Monitor and evaluate client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on ongoing assessments and therapy outcomes.

• Work in conjunction with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring all aspects of client health are addressed effectively.

• Stay informed about advances in mental health treatment and participate in ongoing training and case consultations to enhance professional expertise.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.

• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work culture that prioritizes client care and support.

• Advocate for clients, working to destigmatize mental health issues and ensuring they receive the necessary support for their recovery journeys.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with individuals facing mood disorders and psychological challenges, drawing from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. The diverse client population requires you to be adaptable and culturally sensitive, accommodating various needs and perspectives throughout the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California is required.
\n
• A master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
\n
• Understanding of California law and professional ethics as they pertain to mental health practice.
\n
• Ability to pass a background check through the FBI and DOJ.
\n
• A current TB test (within the last six months).
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of experience working as a mental health therapist, with a focus on mood disorders and related conditions.

• Experience in telehealth or remote therapy settings is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and social/emotional disorders will enhance your ability to effectively support clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Heartlight Counseling Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
