Licensed Physical Therapist - Orthopedic Focus

Work Environment

Located in Reston, Virginia, our orthopedic outpatient clinic offers a collaborative and supportive work environment. You will be part of a cohesive team that includes three other physical therapists and several physical therapist assistants. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients' physical limitations and health objectives.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient goals.
• Administer a range of therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as electrical stimulation and heat therapy.
• Utilize fitness equipment, including treadmills and stationary bikes, to enhance patient rehabilitation.
• Motivate patients through personalized care and support, encouraging their participation and adherence to therapy.
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed and documenting outcomes meticulously in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in physical therapy techniques and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with athletes and active individuals recovering from a variety of conditions, including sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain. Common conditions treated include knee pain, lower back pain, shoulder injuries, and elbow disorders. Your role will be crucial in helping these patients regain their functional abilities and return to their active lifestyles.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia state licensure as a Physical Therapist is mandatory.
• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution is required.
• At least one year of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably with an orthopedic focus.
• Strong analytical and assessment skills to accurately evaluate patient needs.
• Excellent communication abilities, with a focus on building rapport with patients.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach that emphasizes empathy and support.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with EMR systems for patient documentation.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs.
• Background in working with athletes or within a sports rehabilitation context.

Compensation and Benefits
