Most sessions will be conducted via video conferencing, with occasional opportunities for phone sessions as needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and establish effective treatment strategies.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans centered around trauma recovery, focusing on rebuilding resilience and coping skills.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process trauma experiences, develop coping mechanisms, and foster a healing environment.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patient safety and well-being.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, empowering them with information about coping strategies and available resources.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards of mental health care.

• Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing professional development focused on trauma-informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will primarily work with individuals affected by trauma, including those with complex PTSD and various dissociative disorders. These vulnerable populations require specialized knowledge and skill to navigate their unique challenges and promote healing effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW-C, LCPC, LMFT, or LCMFT in the state of Maryland.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, demonstrating your competence in trauma-focused counseling.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Proven experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies, showcasing your ability to make a difference in patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n
