Work Environment

This role is based onsite in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in the vibrant community of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. As a member of our clinical team, you will collaborate closely with fellow healthcare professionals to provide top-notch care and optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients to assess their physical condition and determine appropriate treatment strategies.
• Administer individualized remedial treatments aimed at restoring function, improving mobility, alleviating pain, and preventing permanent disabilities.
• Facilitate comprehensive clinical care which includes performing screenings, evaluations, direct treatment, and training for families and caregivers on home exercise programs and discharge planning.
• Coordinate care with office staff and a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and optimal rehabilitation strategies for each patient.
• Maintain clear and compassionate communication with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, progress updates, challenges, and recommendations.
• Develop and integrate home programming to promote continued patient growth and progress outside of the clinical setting.
• Consult with physicians regarding patient progress and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses specifically on pediatric patients, providing care that addresses the unique developmental and rehabilitation needs of children. You will engage with a diverse range of cases, from infants to adolescents, ensuring that each treatment plan is tailored to meet the specific therapeutic needs and goals of the patient. Your contributions will directly enhance the functional abilities of young patients, helping them achieve milestones and regain independence.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Current Florida PT License is mandatory for all applicants.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a pediatric or acute care hospital setting is preferred.
• Knowledge and proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques is a must.
• A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and developmental milestones in children.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients and their families and navigate the pediatric healthcare landscape.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and interdisciplinary teamwork is desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working specifically with pediatric populations, including those with developmental delays, orthopedic conditions, and neurological disorders.
• Enhanced skills in family-centered care practices and community resource navigation for holistic patient support.
• Additional certifications or training in specialized pediatric therapy techniques are a plus.
