Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Licensed Professional Counselor, your primary responsibility will be to provide mental health counseling to clients aged 18 to 30 in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Specific daily tasks will include:

• Group Therapy Sessions: Facilitate engaging group therapy that fosters connection and support among clients, allowing them to share experiences and learn collaboratively.
• Individual Counseling: Conduct personalized therapy sessions to explore clients' thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and create actionable plans tailored to their needs.
• Treatment Planning: Collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans that prioritize clients’ specific goals, ensuring that care is purposeful and effective.
• Progress Monitoring: Utilize assessment tools and feedback methods to evaluate treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary to align with client growth.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a team of professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care and tackle complex client cases.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your counseling efforts will be concentrated on young adults, an age group in critical transition phases of life. This demographic often grapples with unique challenges related to identity, relationships, and mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey.

Compensation and Benefits

Sentara Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of USD 85,000 – 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
