This position operates out of our outpatient office but is conducted primarily in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that our clients receive uninterrupted care. Our digital infrastructure and therapeutic approach embrace modern technology, enabling seamless communication between counselors, clients, and other healthcare professionals. As a mental health counselor, you will leverage various telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems, like AVATAR, to document sessions efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough preliminary interviews and documenting case histories to track client progress from the initial consultation through the conclusion of treatment.

• Assessing each client’s mental, behavioral, and emotional health to establish a comprehensive understanding of their unique needs.
\n
• Designing and implementing tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, integrating the latest research in psychotherapy.
\n
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to promote healing and personal growth.
\n
• Monitoring client progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers.

• Following up on cases involving hospitalization to ensure continuity of care and coordinate with attending medical professionals.
\n
• Identifying challenges that may impede recovery and actively developing strategies to address them with clients and their families.
\n
• Offering guidance and educational resources to family members and primary caregivers to help them manage emotional and behavioral challenges effectively.

Our clients face a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. A keen understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic factors influencing mental health is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• Successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with a strong foundation in various therapeutic modalities.
\n
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
\n
• Understanding of the interplay between physical health conditions and mental well-being, including experience with addiction disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with exceptional interpersonal abilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
