Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' mobility, function, and overall physical health through comprehensive diagnostic and functional tests, ensuring tailored treatment plans that address individual challenges.
• Design and implement targeted physical therapy interventions aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and promoting restoration of functionality.
• Oversee the activities and interventions provided by Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring fidelity to care plans and compliance with therapeutic protocols.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment options, home modifications, and self-management strategies to facilitate independence and enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
• Document patient progress and treatment results in an electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with clinical documentation standards.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team discussions to share insights, update care plans, and coordinate comprehensive treatment strategies for optimal patient care.
• Monitor changes in patient conditions and adjust therapeutic plans as needed, communicating effectively with medical staff, including physicians and case managers.
• Administer various therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercise therapy, and modalities such as traction and massage to facilitate patient recovery.
• Conduct functional assessments within the rehabilitation environment and devise recommendations for enhancing patient independence.
• Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with advancements in physical therapy methodologies and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field (Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred).

• Ability to effectively utilize EMR systems, including familiarity with Web PT, to maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
