Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Premier Physician Assistant Services in New Rochelle, New York. In this crucial role, you will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement comprehensive medical care for patients in collaboration with physicians. You will function within the full scope of your licensure, being accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care. Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, educating patients and their families, and ensuring smooth transitions of care.

Work Environment

This full-time position is onsite at our Surgical Center, where we foster a collaborative and team-oriented work culture. You will have the opportunity to engage closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners, ensuring the highest standard of care. Our center operates Monday through Friday, following a structured 40-hour work week with a shift starting at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients and review their medical histories to create a holistic view of their health status.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood tests and imaging studies, ensuring timely and accurate results are available for treatment planning.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions within the purview of family medicine, using evidence-based practices.
• Develop personalized and effective treatment plans for chronic and infectious diseases, taking into account each patient’s unique medical history and lifestyle.
• Prescribe appropriate medications while closely monitoring patient responses to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous and organized patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on disease management, preventative measures, and promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
• Oversee and manage patients' overall health, keeping track of their progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Promote preventive care by engaging patients in discussions about healthy practices and regular health screenings.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in primary care through continual research and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient demographic within the surgical center, addressing a variety of healthcare needs that range from post-operative care to preventative health management. Engaging with patients from all walks of life, you will apply your expertise in family medicine to foster health, healing, and patient education.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a family health clinic or similar healthcare setting.
• Proficient knowledge of health care regulations and standards pertinent to patient care.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
• A firm ethical approach to patient care and a commitment to patient-centered service.
• A team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude, adaptable to collaborative work environments.
• The ability to be patient and empathetic when dealing with a wide range of patient needs.
• Must possess a current DEA number for prescribing medications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a surgical center or hospital environment.
• Specialization in family medicine or similar fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team setting.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan to support your long-term financial health.
