Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, which include reviewing medical histories, performing physical examinations, and utilizing diagnostic evaluations to understand each patient's unique situation.

• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with best practices for pain management, monitoring patient progress closely to optimize outcomes.

• Perform procedures and minor surgical interventions, such as joint injections or nerve blocks, under physician guidance to provide immediate relief to patients.

• Educate patients on their medical conditions, the benefits and risks of various treatment options, and lifestyle modifications that can enhance their overall well-being and pain management strategies.

• Maintain meticulous medical records that document patient encounters, treatment plans, medication prescriptions, and follow-up care, ensuring that all information complies with healthcare regulations and standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your patient population will include individuals dealing with chronic pain, including conditions such as arthritis, neuropathy, and fibromyalgia. You will focus on providing compassionate care and effective interventions that promote their physical and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.

• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

• An active State license to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.

• At least 2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably within a pain management or related specialty.

• Strong clinical skills with the ability to operate independently while adhering to established protocols.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

• A steadfast commitment to delivering empathetic, patient-centered healthcare.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management or orthopedic settings is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
