Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments including intake, medical history review, and risk factor evaluation, emphasizing both acute and chronic pain management.
• Diagnose and manage patient care plans for pain relief, implementing various treatments such as physical therapy referrals, medication prescriptions, and other therapeutic strategies.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions accurately and guide treatment plans effectively.
• Engage in ongoing monitoring of patient progress, adjusting treatment approaches based on clinical findings and patient feedback.
• Provide education to patients on pain management strategies, lifestyle adjustments, and the importance of adherence to treatment protocols.
• Coordinate communications between multiple healthcare providers involved in a patient’s care to ensure comprehensive management of complex pain conditions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves working closely with a diverse patient population that includes both children and adults dealing with various levels of pain, from chronic conditions to acute injuries. By addressing the complex interplay of physical, socio-economic, and psychological factors, you will be instrumental in promoting holistic health and wellness for each patient.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, demonstrating comprehensive training in clinical medicine.
• Active New York state licensure as a Physician Assistant, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical setting, with a strong emphasis on pain management or related fields.
• Exceptional multitasking abilities, allowing for efficient handling of various patient needs and priorities within a busy surgical environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance providers, fostering an environment of trust and transparency.
• Proven customer service skills, exemplifying professionalism in all patient interactions, whether in-person or over the phone.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical or pain management setting, with familiarity in procedural assistive roles being a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge in advanced pain management techniques, including interventional methods and alternative therapies.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) management systems, facilitating efficient patient documentation and data organization.

Compensation and Benefits
