Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite within a modern surgical center, where a collaborative atmosphere empowers our medical team to deliver optimal care. The center is equipped with advanced medical technology and resources designed to aid in precise diagnosis and treatment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic while ensuring full engagement in patient care activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments of patients presenting with acute and chronic pain, using advanced clinical diagnostic skills.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that may include medical interventions, rehabilitation therapies, and lifestyle modifications to effectively manage pain.
• Collaborate with case management teams to facilitate coordinated discharge planning, ensuring that patients have seamless transitions post-treatment.
• Act as a consulting provider for patient referrals from other healthcare practitioners, offering specialized insights based on individual patient needs and hospital criteria.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with medical and insurance standards, addressing any appeals or denials for care head-on to support patient needs.
• Participate in both outpatient and inpatient care scenarios, which may include on-call duties as necessitated by patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will engage with a diverse patient population experiencing various types of pain, including but not limited to postoperative pain, chronic musculoskeletal issues, and neuropathic pain. A focus on optimizing the quality of care for each patient will involve understanding their individual pain experiences and integrating that into a holistic treatment approach.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• An active Physician Assistant license to practice in the state of New York.
• At least three years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, specifically in pain management or a related field.
• Strong communication skills both in verbal and written formats, allowing for effective interaction with patients and team members alike.
• High organizational skills, enabling efficient management of multiple patient cases and documentation requirements.
• A solid commitment to a team-oriented healthcare environment, demonstrating a strong work ethic and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, additional experience in pain management or related specialties, such as neurology, orthopedics, or rehabilitation, would be beneficial. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and experience with managing insurance claims can significantly enhance the candidate's application.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
