Work Environment

This role is set within a hospital setting, where interdisciplinary collaboration thrives among healthcare professionals. The environment is fast-paced, emphasizing patient safety and efficacy in treatment protocols. The hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a predictable schedule and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with pain, utilizing advanced diagnostic methods to develop and execute individualized treatment plans.
• Administer treatments including medication management, physical therapy protocols, and other specific pain relief techniques.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with case management teams to facilitate comprehensive discharge plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Provide consultative care by accepting referrals from other physicians, serving as an expert resource for inpatient and outpatient pain management.
• Maintain precise records and documentation which complies with insurance requirements while efficiently managing any necessary appeals for denied services.
• Participate in on-call schedules to ensure continuous support for patients requiring immediate attention, further enhancing care availability.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work predominantly with patients suffering from chronic pain syndromes, post-surgical pain, and various musculoskeletal conditions. This role demands sensitivity and respect for each patient’s unique circumstances and needs. Understanding the psychological impact of chronic pain is pivotal, and as such, you will engage with patients to foster trust, ensuring a supportive environment that promotes healing and effective management strategies.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and skills necessary for the role.
• An active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York, ensuring compliance with local healthcare regulations.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, particularly in pain management or related fields, showcasing your capability to handle complex patient scenarios with confidence.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 150,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
