Key Responsibilities

As an Interventional Pain Management Physician Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting detailed patient consultations and follow-up evaluations, including the review of medical histories and conducting thorough physical examinations.
• Performing ultrasound-guided trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and joint injections to alleviate patient discomfort.
• Analyzing lab results, diagnostic studies, and physical therapy progress to tailor pain management strategies effectively.
• Managing both acute and chronic pain patients, monitoring their therapies, administering injections, and performing minor office surgical procedures while prescribing appropriate medications.
• Triage patient calls, promptly respond to medical emergencies, and ensure comprehensive patient care by documenting all pertinent information in patient records.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors to create an interdisciplinary approach to pain management.
• Actively promoting our services within the community to generate new patient referrals while maintaining an empathetic and compassionate approach to patient interaction.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve caring for a diverse patient population suffering from various acute and chronic pain conditions. With an expected patient volume of about 25 patients per day, you will have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships and make a significant impact on their lives through tailored treatment plans and compassionate care.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution
• At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a healthcare setting focused on pain management
• Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in the use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Modernizing Medicine, is highly advantageous

Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with experience in interventional pain management, outpatient settings, or familiarity with interventional procedures will be given preference. A background in managing chronic pain patients will enhance your adaptability and performance in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $140,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We also provide potential for performance bonuses of up to $20,000 annually, a comprehensive benefits package, and support for ongoing professional development.
