Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our Surgical Center, allowing for hands-on engagement with patients in a state-of-the-art facility. The clinic operates from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life experience while ensuring our staff are available during peak patient visiting times.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in Pain Management, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments that consist of detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to understand each patient’s pain profile.
• Collaborating with supervising physicians to formulate and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes and minimizing discomfort.
• Performing appropriate procedures and minor surgical interventions under physician supervision, ensuring safety and high standards of care.
• Providing comprehensive patient education regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications that promote pain management and overall wellness.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records of all patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population dealing with chronic pain issues, including but not limited to musculoskeletal disorders, nerve injuries, and post-operative pain management. You will engage with each patient in a compassionate manner, recognizing the significant impact that pain has on their daily lives, and work collaboratively with them to develop effective management strategies.

Qualifications

To be considered for this vital role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• An active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a pain management or surgical setting.
• Strong clinical skills coupled with the ability to work independently within the scope of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering a supportive relationship with patients.
• A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered healthcare.

Preferred Experience

Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or physical medicine and rehabilitation is highly advantageous and will be considered beneficial for this role. Familiarity with the latest pain management techniques and technologies will also be appreciated.

Compensation and Benefits
