Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in our pain management clinic, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests to accurately identify pain levels and underlying causes.
• Formulating individualized treatment plans that may encompass pharmacological interventions, interventional procedures such as nerve blocks, and complementary therapies tailored to each patient’s unique situation.
• Monitoring patient responses to treatments, adjusting plans as needed, and communicating with the healthcare team to optimize patient care outcomes.
• Educating patients about their conditions, treatment options, and pain management strategies, ensuring they feel empowered and engaged in their healthcare journey.
• Documenting patient encounters comprehensively in electronic health records to maintain an accurate and up-to-date medical history.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on patients suffering from a wide range of chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, neuropathic pain, post-surgical pain syndromes, and musculoskeletal disorders. Our clinic serves a diverse community, which means you will encounter patients from various backgrounds, requiring a culturally competent approach to care that addresses the social determinants of health and advocates for all patients.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Active national certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) recognized by the Medical Board.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in pain management or a related field.

Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with experience in pain management practices, familiarity with electronic medical record systems, and exposure to interventional pain techniques will be highly regarded. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and communicate efficiently with diverse patient populations is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
