Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including initial assessments and ongoing evaluations throughout the treatment process.

• Develop detailed, tailored treatment and intervention plans based on clients’ needs, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, adapting approaches as necessary to engage clients effectively.
\n
• Monitor and document clients’ progress consistently, making adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with other health professionals.

• Provide referrals to additional specialists or services when necessary, ensuring clients receive comprehensive support.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and other healthcare providers to address complex cases.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, promoting a system of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse client population experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Our practice serves individuals from various backgrounds, showcasing a commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusion in our therapeutic approaches. The remote setting allows us to reach clients who may face barriers in accessing traditional in-person counseling services.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful completion and passing of the NCE and/or NCMHCE examinations.
\n
• Proven ability to establish positive therapeutic relationships with clients.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective documentation and client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a mental health counselor role with a focus on telehealth services.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, is preferred.
\n
• Experience working with co-occurring disorders and knowledge of addiction treatment strategies.

• A deep understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of medications and their effects, particularly those prescribed for mental health conditions.

Compensation and Benefits\n
