Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Century Road Counseling Center, you will take on a variety of essential responsibilities, including:

• Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, their severity, frequency, and impact on daily functioning.
• Collaborating with clients to design individualized treatment plans that engage their specific goals and aspirations.
• Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address and manage mood disorders.
• Educating clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
• Monitoring client progress with ongoing assessment, adapting treatment plans as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Working closely with a network of psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure integrated care and a holistic approach to mental health.
• Maintaining accurate client documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Participating actively in professional development activities, workshops, and team-building sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health treatment.
• Advocating for clients, aiming to reduce stigma surrounding mood disorders while raising awareness of mental health support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals experiencing mood disorders, which may include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our clinic embraces a culturally diverse clientele, enabling you to engage with patients from various backgrounds, thereby enriching your therapeutic practice and understanding of mental health issues across different communities.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must fulfill the following educational and professional requirements:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Tennessee.
• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment methods, specifically related to mood disorders.
• Strong foundational knowledge of psychopharmacology to collaborate effectively with prescribing psychiatrists.
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport with clients and foster trust.
