Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of residents to accurately assess their physical capabilities and specific therapy needs. This includes using various evaluation tools and methodologies appropriate for orthopedic conditions.
• Design, implement, and modify personalized treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and feedback from residents and their families.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to address impairments and improve functional abilities.
• Document patient progress meticulously, ensuring that all records are updated to reflect any changes in treatment or condition. You will utilize electronic health record systems to maintain accurate patient information.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, which may include physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and rehabilitation assistants, to develop comprehensive care plans that address the total well-being of patients.
• Educate both residents and their families about treatment protocols, home exercise programs, and methods to promote long-term health and independence.
• Keep abreast of current best practices in physical therapy by participating in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients with orthopedic conditions, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and degenerative diseases affecting mobility. Many of our residents are elderly, therefore, an understanding of age-related physical challenges and rehabilitation approaches is crucial. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our patients' ability to regain strength, mobility, and independence.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida.
• Bachelor's or higher degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience (minimum of 2 years) in physical therapy, with a preference for those with orthopedic and geriatric care background.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of patients, families, and team members.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage diverse patient caseloads efficiently.
• A collaborative spirit, showcasing the ability to work cohesively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a rehabilitation facility or skilled nursing environment, particularly with the geriatric population.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
• Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques are a plus, such as dry needling or manual therapy.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
