Great Valley Psychotherapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in Babylon, New York. This full-time position is primarily remote, giving you the flexibility to provide essential counseling services within a school environment. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their counseling needs.
\n
• Utilize DSM-5 criteria to accurately diagnose substance use disorders and inform treatment planning based on ASAM levels of care.
\n
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans, specifically focusing on substance abuse counseling.
\n
• Create and manage discharge and continuum care plans that ensure clients transition effectively to the right levels of ongoing care.
\n
• Document all counseling interactions, assessments, case notes, and follow-up services in the client’s clinical record, maintaining up-to-date documentation in accordance with best practices.
\n
• Maintain a manageable caseload, inclusive of conducting case management and utilization reviews as required.
\n
• Coordinate support services for clients and their families, ensuring these efforts are recorded and effectively communicated.
\n
• Foster communication with referral sources, including schools, legal entities, and employers, ensuring seamless support for clients.
\n
• Utilize a multi-disciplinary team approach to facilitate intervention strategies for crisis-oriented situations, enhancing client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on working with a diverse population of school-aged children who may be experiencing challenges related to mental health and substance use. As a social worker, you will engage directly with students and their families to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes long-term recovery and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field, with an active LCSW license in New York State.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create trusting relationships with clients and families.
\n
• Competence in maintaining professional boundaries and exhibiting cultural sensitivity.
\n
• A proactive approach to self-motivation, self-sufficiency, and exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in school-based counseling or a similar environment is strongly preferred.
\n
• Proficiency in co-occurring counseling methodologies and case management processes.
\n
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in therapeutic settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n
