Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive information regarding clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Document case histories and progress notes from initial consultations through the completion of treatment, maintaining accurate electronic health records using systems such as AVATAR.
\n
• Assess clients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans with specific intervention strategies tailored to their unique circumstances.
\n
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and structured group therapy interventions to encourage community support and shared healing.
\n
• Monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective recovery pathways are established.
\n
• Collaborate regularly with psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers to coordinate care and refine intervention approaches.
\n
• Conduct follow-up communications with clients who have been hospitalized, facilitating a smooth transition back to outpatient care.
\n
• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may inhibit recovery, providing education and support to clients and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

At Rosewood Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse range of clients, from children to adults, navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your capacity to foster a trusting relationship with clients will be crucial in helping them feel safe and understood while they seek pathways to improved mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong capabilities in written and verbal communication, with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a community health setting or clinical environment.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically familiarity with AVATAR.

• Experience managing complex cases involving co-occurring disorders and knowledge of best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Understanding of medications prescribed by psychiatrists and their potential effects on patient behavior and treatment adherence.
