Joy of Hope Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. You will conduct thorough mental health evaluations, design individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions while maintaining a supportive remote environment.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews with clients to gather comprehensive information on their mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document case histories and progress notes throughout the treatment process, ensuring thorough record-keeping from initial consultation through to treatment completion.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that carefully consider the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing effective techniques to foster emotional healing and resilience.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to facilitate recovery and address emerging needs.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health specialists and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care, enhancing patient outcomes.
\n
• Follow up with clients and their associated medical professionals regarding any necessary interventions, particularly for clients who may require hospital admission.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement proactive strategies to alleviate these challenges.

• Provide guidance to family members and primary caregivers so they can support their loved ones in managing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client focus of this role includes children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction issues. As a mental health counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients through their unique struggles while advocating for their emotional well-being in a supportive and understanding manner.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California is mandatory.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven experience as a mental health counselor with a solid understanding of therapeutic practices.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for efficient patient documentation.
\n
• Knowledge of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as substance use disorders.
\n
• Commitment to continued education and adherence to best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, complemented by strong interpersonal skills.
\n
• A compassionate, understanding nature that can create a safe space for clients to share their experiences.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in community mental health settings, particularly in managing diverse and underserved populations.

• Previous involvement with telehealth services and a deep understanding of its nuances.

• Background in substance abuse counseling or knowledge of addiction recovery processes is advantageous.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, aligning with experience and qualifications.
