This position is uniquely structured for a remote telehealth setting, allowing you to provide care from the comfort of your home while reaching clients in a safe and effective manner. Utilizing technology to connect with individuals in need, you will conduct assessments, provide therapy, and collaborate with other mental health and law enforcement professionals.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies during mental health crisis responses, ensuring a calm and supportive environment for all parties involved.

• Train police personnel on effective communication and intervention strategies that de-escalate situations without the use of force, fostering safer interactions with individuals facing mental health episodes.

• Manage patient care by coordinating with third-party entities, such as the Department of Mental Health and various psychiatric facilities, to facilitate effective treatment plans and transitional care.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that all documentation is detailed and up-to-date.

• Engage with law enforcement, hospital staff, and psychiatrists effectively, including assisting with conducting psychiatric evaluations in the field to assess the need for involuntary detention (5150/5585 applications).

• Provide short-term crisis counseling for non-violent individuals experiencing mental health episodes, focusing on immediate stabilization and connection to ongoing support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals undergoing mental health crises, including those in collaboration with law enforcement. This role necessitates a deep understanding of various mental health conditions and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will help guide those facing acute distress towards appropriate care solutions, which may include referrals to local mental health facilities or their integration into available housing services when necessary.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.

Compensation and Benefits\n
