Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Vitality Wellness, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' mental health history and treatment needs.

• Designing and implementing comprehensive, individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience.
\n
• Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process traumatic experiences, gain coping skills, and promote their healing journeys.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to coordinate integrated care tailored to each patient's needs.

• Offering crisis intervention support and guidance during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educating clients and their families on trauma, coping strategies, and available support resources.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participating in case consultations, staff meetings, and ongoing training focused on trauma-informed care practices.

• Continuously updating your knowledge of current research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals affected by trauma, including those with PTSD, complex trauma, and other related disorders. We serve a diverse client population in Paterson, New Jersey, and beyond, acknowledging the unique backgrounds and experiences of each individual. Your role will require sensitivity and responsiveness to the varying needs of clients, ensuring that all interactions are conducted with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure in New Jersey as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health counseling role is preferred.

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care practices and treatment modalities.

• Proven ability to implement trauma-focused therapies and interventions effectively.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and supportive approach.

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Experience\n
