Peer Support Behavioral Center is seeking passionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to join our team, offering both full-time and part-time positions. This role is primarily conducted through telehealth, allowing for flexibility in your schedule while making a significant impact on the mental health of our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Collaborate with primary care providers to identify and address mental health and psychosocial issues among patients, functioning as an integral part of the primary care team.
\n
• Conduct thorough patient intakes that focus on diagnostic assessments and functional evaluations, providing actionable recommendations for treatment plans to primary care providers.
\n
• Deliver brief, focused interventions to patients in need of mental health services, ensuring timely and effective support.
\n
• Advise primary care providers on patients' suitability for primary care settings versus specialty mental health facilities, guiding appropriate referrals.
\n
• Initiate follow-ups to assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary based on their evolving needs.
\n
• Develop and implement relapse prevention plans for patients, assisting them in maintaining stable functioning.
\n
• Identify 'at risk' patients and formulate comprehensive plans to prevent deterioration of their mental health.
\n
• Coordinate and monitor the delivery of health services related to behavioral health care, facilitating connections with other treatment providers—with the patient’s consent—beyond our center.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress and diagnostic information in treatment charts to support continuity of care.
\n
• Keep primary care providers informed about patients’ needs and therapeutic progress to collaboratively develop effective treatment strategies.
\n
• Support patients in making healthier lifestyle choices that positively impact their behavioral health, particularly those with chronic physical conditions.
\n
• Empower patients through education and self-management skills that enhance their involvement in their treatment and recovery journey.
\n
• Provide consultation to clinic management and team members on behavioral health services, contributing insight toward program evaluation and development.
\n
• Assist patients in adhering to medical treatments prescribed by their primary care providers, offering strategies to manage any side effects from medications.
\n
• Adhere rigorously to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals and perform additional duties as assigned.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our patient population is diverse, including individuals from various backgrounds facing a range of mental health challenges. You will work closely with clients requiring immediate support as well as ongoing management of chronic mental health conditions. This role is not only about providing care but also about building trusting relationships that foster growth and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
\n
• Possession of a current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in Texas.
\n
• Comprehensive understanding of mental health assessment techniques, treatment planning, and psychotherapeutic methodologies, including DSM-IV diagnoses.
\n
• Familiarity with various therapeutic practices such as family therapy, group therapy, and child psychotherapy.
\n
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
\n
• Physical and mental fitness to handle the demands of the counselor role.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of the social and personal impacts of mental health issues on individuals and families.
\n
• Experience with community resources that can aid patients effectively in their recovery journey.
\n
• Ability to perform psychodiagnostics and apply therapeutic techniques appropriately.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We are pleased to offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 87,000 to 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a SIGN-ON BONUS to welcome you to our dedicated team.
