Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions either in the clients' homes or via virtual platforms, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for each session.

• Lead therapeutic interventions aimed at anger management, social skills development, and coping strategies tailored specifically for children with special needs.

• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team to develop comprehensive treatment plans and provide ongoing support and advocacy for youth and their families.
\n
• Monitor and manage high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors and aggression, by implementing tailored therapeutic strategies and interventions.
\n
• Document all client interactions meticulously, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely submission.

• Attend regular team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations on best practices in therapy to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3 to 20, particularly those diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). These individuals often face unique challenges that require specialized knowledge and sensitivity from a therapist. Your role will be crucial in supporting not just the client, but their families, empowering caregivers with the tools and strategies they need to foster a supportive environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related discipline is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Oregon.
\n
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, ideally during after-school hours (4-7 pm); weekend availability is a plus.

• Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is strongly preferred, enabling effective communication with a diverse client base.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience delivering positive behavior support strategies and interventions.

• Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents with I/DD, significantly enhancing therapeutic outcomes.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
