Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate personalized treatment plans for clients struggling with alcohol-related issues.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to facilitate effective treatment.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, and conduct optional support groups to enhance client engagement.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, addressing any late cancellations or no-shows, and ensuring accountability throughout the treatment process.
• Participate in regular training and continuing education units (CEUs), with costs covered by the organization, to stay current with best practices in mental health treatment.
• Engage with the community by discussing and promoting local support options, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Smart Recovery, ensuring clients feel integrated into a supportive network.
• Collaborate with the Content Manager to create educational materials or “Expert Insights” that benefit both clients and the community, enhancing your role as a thought leader.
• Join monthly peer group meetings to share experiences, collaborate on case discussions, and receive support from fellow clinicians.

Patient Population / Client Focus

We cater to individuals seeking to improve their relationship with alcohol, spanning a range of demographics and backgrounds. Many clients express varying goals, whether they desire moderation or complete abstinence from alcohol. As a counselor, you will play an essential role in helping clients explore their motivations, confront underlying issues, and celebrate their successes on the journey to recovery.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid licensure as a LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington.
• Proven experience and training in trauma-informed treatment methods, CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
• A strong understanding of harm reduction principles, especially related to alcohol use, is essential.
• Excellent clinical engagement skills, demonstrating empathy and active listening in the therapeutic relationship.
• Familiarity with community recovery support options, and a commitment to integrating those resources into client care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience leading group therapy or support sessions in a virtual setting is a plus.
• Previous work in a telehealth environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Background in addiction counseling or recovery coaching is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this role is an annual salary between $80,000 and $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
