Full-Time Physical Therapist for Home Care Services

Restore Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Physical Therapist to enhance our home care services team in the Bronx, New York. Work Environment

This position will involve delivering care onsite, primarily in the patients' homes. By working closely with patients in their familiar environments, you will be able to provide tailored therapy that enhances comfort and promotes effective healing. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although some flexibility may be required to accommodate patient necessities and ensure optimal care delivery. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including therapists from various fields, ensuring comprehensive care that addresses all aspects of patient well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on enhancing patient mobility, strength, and functional outcomes based on specific needs and recovery goals.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, encouraging adherence to treatment protocols that promote physical well-being and pain relief.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and home exercise programs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.
• Utilize techniques such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat and cold therapy to augment therapeutic interventions under guidance.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, assessing improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functional capability.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and available for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to develop coordinated care plans aimed at optimizing patient outcomes.
• Provide emotional support to patients, fostering a motivating environment that encourages resilience and positivity throughout the rehabilitation journey.
• Adhere to the highest ethical standards, ensuring the confidentiality and rights of patients are respected at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, elderly patients with mobility challenges, children with developmental needs, and athletes sustaining sports injuries. Each patient presents a unique set of challenges, and your ability to adapt treatment approaches accordingly will significantly influence their rehabilitation experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.
• Solid understanding of physical therapy principles and practices, as well as strong assessment and evaluation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a supportive and effective therapeutic relationship with patients.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with direct experience in home care services or rehabilitation.
• Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care plans.
• Familiarity with the specific patient populations we serve, including those requiring orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
