Work Environment

The Physical Therapist will primarily work onsite in patients' homes throughout the Teaneck area. You will encounter a variety of environments and adapt your therapy methods according to each patient's living situation. This role provides flexibility in managing your schedule week to week, aiming for a work-life balance that sees you providing necessary interventions from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with nurses, caregivers, and multidisciplinary therapy staff to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments to identify the specific needs and challenges faced by patients.
• Develop and implement tailored therapy plans that incorporate therapeutic exercises, pain management strategies, muscle strengthening routines, and mobility training.
• Utilize hands-on treatment techniques such as manual therapy, gait training, and balance improvement exercises to enhance patient mobility.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, preventive care strategies, and ongoing wellness techniques to promote long-term health.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and facilitating continuity of care.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team by providing insights and recommendations regarding each patient's progress.
• Monitor and record patients' progress while adjusting therapy plans according to each patient's evolving condition and feedback.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves the aging population and individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries in the Teaneck area. Our goal is to help these clients regain their strength, functionality, and autonomy in daily activities. By providing personalized care in their home environment, we cultivate trust and respect, essential components in building effective therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in New Jersey (required).
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist.
• Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to assess, develop, and execute structured therapy plans.
• Exceptional communication skills to ensure clear interactions with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred) with additional certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation seen as advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for visiting patient locations.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, particularly within home care settings or with assisted living facilities.
• Experience in geriatrics, handling complex cases involving aging patients.
• Demonstrable ability to work within an interdisciplinary team emphasizing collaborative care and patient-centered service.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
