Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Muscle Mastery, you will undertake the following essential responsibilities:

• Direct physical therapy treatments that aim to prevent disability, relieve pain, improve, and restore function according to each client's individualized care plan.
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure the accurate implementation of treatment protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' levels of function through diagnostic assessments and tests related to muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Assess clients' home environments to tailor rehabilitation recommendations that enhance their independence.
• Provide physical therapy services as prescribed by physicians, including administering therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and treatments using physical agents.
• Evaluate and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring clients have the right support for their recovery.
• Actively participate in developing, reviewing, and updating the plan of care for each client.
• Document and communicate any changes in clients' conditions and therapy responses to relevant healthcare team members.
• Prepare and maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Engage in case conferences as part of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate total treatment and enhance patient outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families about the use and care of therapy devices and the overall therapy program.
• Ensure timely submission of clinical and administrative documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
• Conduct functional assessments on-site, revising care plans as necessary to meet changing client needs.
• Be available to assist and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in their treatment efforts.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to achieve organizational goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• At least one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an acute care or home care setting.
• Valid licensure in the state of Virginia, in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
