Work Environment

The physical therapy role is primarily onsite in our patients' home environments, allowing you to deliver personalized care where patients feel most comfortable. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nursing staff, fostering a strong interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation. The position requires a full caseload, with a schedule that emphasizes meaningful interactions and tailored treatment sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients to develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practice.
• Implement and modify individualized treatment strategies aimed at restoring function and minimizing disability through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and mobility training.
• Document patient progress comprehensively in accordance with Life and Wellness Services policies, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with the State Practice Act.
• Engage patients and their families in educational conversations about treatment plans and preventive care strategies to enhance recovery and self-management skills.
• Regularly reassess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure the best outcomes, and communicate these changes effectively with all stakeholders in the care team.
• Maintain equipment used in therapy and educate patients on its proper usage to ensure safety and efficacy during treatments.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on orthopedic patients of all ages, specifically those recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements, trauma, or sports injuries. You will be instrumental in addressing their physical impairments and integrating rehabilitation into their daily activities. The position requires a nuanced understanding of age-specific treatment strategies, allowing you to adapt your approach to the developmental stages and unique needs of each patient.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida; a temporary permit may be accepted while completing licensing requirements.
• Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification is mandatory to ensure patient safety during interventions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation is preferred, particularly with populations experiencing post-operative recovery.
• Familiarity with home health care environments and practices is a plus, as well as experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary, ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
