Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical conditions and functional capacities in their home environments, focusing on orthopedic needs.
• Establish and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific recovery goals.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and various therapeutic techniques, such as manual therapy, exercise programs, and assistive technology.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
• Educate patients, their families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, assistive devices, and proper techniques for daily living activities.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients, enhancing interdisciplinary communication.
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices in physical therapy by attending workshops, reviewing literature, and participating in professional organizations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this position, you will work primarily with orthopedic patients who are recovering from surgery, injury, or debilitating conditions. Your expertise will help these individuals regain their mobility and strength, ensuring they can return to their daily activities. By providing home-based care, you will engage with patients in a comfortable setting, enhancing their recovery experience.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Florida.
• Minimum of two years of relevant physical therapy experience, particularly in orthopedics.
• Current certification in CPR.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a home healthcare or outpatient orthopedic therapy setting.
• Familiarity with healthcare technology and telehealth practices.
• Background in interdisciplinary collaboration within a healthcare framework.

Compensation and Benefits
