Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Trauma-Focused Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time position allows for remote work while contributing to a community health clinic dedicated to advancing mental health care for trauma survivors. Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing you to create a conducive work environment at your choice of location while maintaining connections with our supportive team. Your work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although flexibility in hours may be necessary to accommodate our patients' varied needs. Our practice prioritizes a collaborative atmosphere, where team members communicate effectively and support one another in delivering excellent care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluations to assess individuals’ trauma histories and needs, enabling appropriate treatment planning.

• Develop and implement customized treatment programs focused on fostering trauma recovery, resilience building, and emotional growth.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support your clients' healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting a safe space for patients to explore their trauma and acquire effective coping skills.

• Collaborate seamlessly with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care, addressing both mental health and medical needs.

• Provide crisis intervention during trauma-induced emergencies, responding with calmness, support, and effective therapeutic techniques.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources for ongoing support and healing.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Engage in ongoing professional development, staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma treatment to elevate the quality of care we provide.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary client focus will be individuals who have experienced trauma, including those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patient population is diverse, comprising individuals from various backgrounds and identities, and requires sensitivity to their unique experiences and challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid state license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist.
\n
• An understanding of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed practices, and resilience-building methods.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and non-judgmental support in every client interaction.

• The ability to remain composed and supportive in scenarios where clients experience acute stress or crises.

Preferred Experience\n

• While not mandatory, at least two years of post-licensure experience in providing trauma-focused therapy is highly desirable.

• Proven expertise in applying trauma intervention techniques and therapeutic modalities appropriate for diverse patient needs.

• Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency with various computer applications to enhance patient care workflow.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
