Work Environment

This position is set in a hospital environment that promotes teamwork and interdisciplinary communication. The Physician Assistant will operate onsite, making direct patient contact a significant part of the role. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technologies and resources that enhance clinical efficiency and patient outcomes. The scheduled working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans utilizing advanced diagnostic skills to address the unique needs of each patient.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure coherent discharge planning and patient education, enabling smoother transitions from hospital to home care.
• Engage in initiatives focused on optimizing resource utilization and improving the quality of care delivered to patients.
• Provide consultations and round on inpatients, facilitating smooth coordination between various specialties and care teams.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with insurance standards and proactively manage appeals for claim denials.
• Participate in outpatient services, addressing both acute and chronic pain management needs, while also sharing on-call duties as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work closely with a diverse patient population, including individuals suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. Our clients range from those experiencing post-surgical pain to those living with chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. A commitment to understanding each patient's unique circumstances and building effective therapeutic relationships is essential to enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required, indicating a commitment to academic excellence and clinical proficiency.
• An active Physician Assistant license in New York State is mandatory for practice.
• At least three years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting, preferably in pain management or a closely related field.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems smoothly to enhance patient documentation and care continuity.

Compensation and Benefits

In recognition of your pivotal role, we offer a competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
