Responsibilities
- Title: Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) - 2026/2027 School Year
- Location: Anoka, MN
- Duration: September 8, 2026 to June 10, 2027
- Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
- Position Type: Select a Position Type
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week (typically 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM)
- Student Age Group: Elementary schools
- Caseload: Covers 3 Elementary schools
Responsibilities
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
- Develop and implement Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS).
- Support students through behavior intervention, de-escalation, and crisis response.
- Train school staff on behavior strategies and recommendations.
- Assist with IEP development and implementation.
- Use behavioral data to guide interventions and programming.
- Maintain a safe learning environment.
- Follow district policies and state/federal special education requirements.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Special Education.

- Licensed Special Education Teacher with a Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Teaching License
