Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations for new clients to gather relevant information and establish treatment goals.

• Document the client’s mental, behavioral, and emotional health throughout the course of therapy, maintaining accurate records from initial consultations through discharge.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, or groups.
\n
• Facilitate weekly individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques.

• Monitor client progress through regular assessments, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to constructively influence clients' holistic care plans.
\n
• Engage in ongoing communication with treatment teams to address any hospital admissions, ensuring continuity of care for clients.
\n
• Assist clients and their families in recognizing and modifying behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing them with essential coping strategies and resources.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in developing skills to manage mental health challenges within the household.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Avella Behavioral Health Center serves diverse populations, including individuals with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma histories, addiction issues, and various co-occurring mental health conditions. In this role, you will be entrusted with providing care that considers the unique cultural, social, and psychological factors influencing each client's treatment journey. Your expertise will play a crucial role in helping our clients build resilience and achieve lasting improvements in their mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Successful passage of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating familiarity with therapeutic practices and approaches.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for counseling documentation and client tracking.
\n
• Previous experience dealing with clients with underlying physical and emotional health conditions and substance abuse disorders.
\n
• Strong knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and an ability to incorporate these into clinical practice.

• Understanding the pharmacological aspects of medications prescribed for mental health management and their effects on clients.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
\n
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills that foster trust and compassion, facilitating a safe environment for clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
