Lecturer (Part Time Teaching) – Summer 2026 Department: Mathematics Location: Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Piscataway, NJ Position Type: Part Time Posting Number: 26FA0131 Salary and Compensation The minimum rate of the role is $2,777 per credit. Compensation below this minimum may be provided in accordance with employment status, collective bargaining agreements, and institutional guidelines. The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, as well as availability of department or grant funds. Positions are primarily for course lecturers or recitation instructors for Basic Skills (e.g., Elementary Algebra), Mathematics or Liberal Arts, Precalculus, and Calculus I and II. Candidates must be able to teach face‑to‑face, as well as online, and be available to teach between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., or else between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. All teaching will be in person. Candidates must have a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. and provide evidence of teaching effectiveness. Course load is up to 9 credit hours per semester, for a maximum of 15 credit hours per academic year. Qualifications Minimum: Master’s Degree and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
