Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist at Happy Body Therapy, you will work onsite in patients' homes, ensuring therapy is conveniently delivered in an environment where they are most comfortable. Key Responsibilities

In your role, you will:

• Consult with patients to gather insights about their physical history, current condition, and specific symptoms to devise tailored treatment plans.
• Diagnose movement dysfunctions through comprehensive assessments and establish functional goals aligned with patients' needs.
• Implement therapeutic exercise programs, instructing patients on correct techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques, including massage and stimulation, to facilitate healing and alleviate discomfort.
• Guide patients in the operation and use of mobility equipment like wheelchairs and walkers, enhancing their independence.
• Document all patient interactions meticulously, tracking progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
• Educate patients and their families on home-based treatment options, emphasizing the importance of continued exercise and care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will impact a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors with varying physical rehabilitation needs. You'll be tasked with developing innovative strategies and utilizing your expertise to create improvement pathways tailored to each individual's unique circumstances, whether they are recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic pain, or managing post-injury rehabilitation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure effective interaction with patients and families.
• Proficiency in using computer software for patient record management and reporting.
• A highly adaptable and flexible approach, capable of managing diverse patient needs.

Preferred Experience

While no previous experience is strictly required, a minimum of 2 years in the field is preferred to ensure readiness to handle various patient situations effectively. Familiarity with home care environments and outpatient rehabilitation concepts is beneficial.
