Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive individual treatment sessions in client homes or at our outpatient clinic, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for the child and family.

• Implement specialized therapeutic strategies to assist with anger management, coping mechanisms, and the development of social skills, effectively targeting high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.

• Enhance decision-making capabilities among adolescents and their caregivers, equipping them with the tools to manage behavioral challenges effectively.

• Maintain consistent collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team, actively sharing insights and strategies to foster comprehensive support for families.
\n
• Ensure timely documentation of all therapeutic activities, including intake records, progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments, following best practices for confidentiality and compliance.

• Participate in monthly meetings, providing insights and recommendations that contribute to the overall improvement of services provided by our center.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily focus on providing therapeutic support to children ranging from ages 3 to 20, specifically those experiencing developmental and cognitive disabilities. Your expertise in addressing the unique needs of this population will facilitate improvements in their behavioral and emotional functioning. By implementing tailored treatment plans, you will contribute directly to enhancing their quality of life and overall development.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of Maryland is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM), with flexibility for weekend work preferred.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is required.

• Previous work experience with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for travel to client locations.

• Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
