Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual treatment sessions either remotely via video conferencing or in-home, tailoring therapy to the unique needs of each child and family.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to assist clients in developing coping strategies, improving social skills, and managing anger through targeted interventions.

• Work collaboratively with the treatment team to formulate comprehensive treatment plans that emphasize safety and proactive behavioral management, particularly for high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions or aggression.

• Document all client interactions meticulously, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with state regulations and organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to share insights, discuss client progress, and suggest improvements to treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Providence, you will primarily serve children aged 3 to 20, particularly those diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). These vulnerable populations require specialized therapeutic interventions that address not only their psychological needs but also the holistic support of their family systems.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Kansas.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5–10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM to 7 PM), with additional weekend flexibility preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to accommodate travel for in-home sessions.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support specifically for youth.

• Previous working experience with children and adolescents with I/DD is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
